Product Description Summary & Analysis Draft 2

According to the article “Telematics will change trucks and trucking” by Sean Kilcarr 2015, connectivity and
opportunities created by data analysis is going to change trucks and the trucking industry. The easy to deploy Saavy FleetTrac telematics device would enhance connectivity for telematics in trucking with features as
“highly developed  antenna technology” and“connecting truck drivers via smart phone applications”.
To ensure functionality through unfavourable conditions, the device uses very little power to operate.
Wallace Lau argued that “connectivity is the biggest enabler of a lot of potential benefits for this industry”.
Through connectivity drivers could capitalize the usage of data to avoid traffic congestion when operating
night time schedules.

Despite the lack of information on costs of installing Saavy FleetTrac device on individual trucks,
Saavy FleetTrac telematics device would be highly beneficial to every truck driver due to its potential of
increasing fuel economy and driver's efficiency.

For functionality, Savvy Fleetrac can be customized.The article from Savvy Fleetrac Systems 2014 states
"to meet the individual customer’s needs the Savvy FleetTrac is adjustable, easy to install and requires no
external antennae". Savvy FleetTrac also stands out because it needs very little power to operate, so it
meets all current and potential environmental regulations. This enables prolonged independent operational
duration and warrant slow external power supply usage.

Some of the changes connectivity would make in the industry would be allowing drivers to capitalise on
data.The article from Saavy FleetTrac System 2010 also states the product " provides drivers with
information instantaneously via a portal and connects it to a top quality map with the necessary
metadata". An application of this would be to avoid traffic congestion when operating during night
time schedules. This results in drivers benefiting from increased fuel economy. Being a web-based
software, users can access it without local installation easily through the Internet, via cloud storage
on premises. The ability to access via mobile devices from anywhere and at any time empowers drivers
to receive a clear overview of their processes and can monitor their activities.Evidence of the benefits of
integrating telematics product into trucks would be to look at one of the  largest  global courier delivery
services,United Parcel Service (UPS) .According to Donna Longino 2010,"UPS been using telematics for
more than 20 years to improve efficiency and safety of our tractor-trailer fleet".One of the main
concerns would be information security. With data being garnered, hacking would disrupt telematics in truckingThe Savvy FleetTrac device transmits data securely via encryption. Additionally,  data transmission checks ensures the safety of the information.

The use of telematics devices in trucks would bring several benefits to the driver despite the risk of
hacking which is significantly reduced due to encryption on the Savvy FleetTrac device. Every truck driver
would benefit  from the investment of purchasing and installing the Saavy FleetTrac product in the long run.

  1. Thank you, Syafiq, for this effort. It is fairly fluent. The problem is in the way it has been organized. First, your product description needs to be more comprehensive. Your provide lots of info in the analysis on Savvy FleetTrac, but there seems not to be enough in the summary description. In the summary you really need to inform the reader of the various features and functions of the device.

Next, you do not have a workable thesis. What is your stand? What is the controlling idea of hat stand? You seem to be just writing info about Savvy FleetTrac without organizing that info into "sections." You have no real thesis, no clear septic paragraphs and poorly developed body paragraphs. For that reason, the essay seems to ramble without clear direction.

Finally, your use of APA citation conventions is minimal, both in-text and end-of-text (the reference list). I can show you many useful websites on APA, on thesis statements, on anything, but you need to read and digest the information, then you need to translate that understanding into application..

    Here are some other issues:

    1) According to the article “Telematics will change trucks and trucking” by Sean Kilcarr 2015, connectivity and opportunities created by data analysis is going to change trucks and the trucking industry.
    >>>
According to the article “Telematics will change trucks and trucking” (Kilcarr 2015), connectivity and opportunities created by data analysis is going to change trucks and the trucking industry.

    1.1) ... connectivity and opportunities ... is going to .... >>>
    (subject verb disagreement)

    2) Wallace Lau argued... >>>
In the same article, Lau argued...

    3) drivers could capitalize the usage of data >>>
drivers could capitalize on the usage of data

    4) The article from Savvy Fleetrac Systems 2014 states.... >>>
Is this an article or a website? Does it have a date? Your citation convention needs work.

    5) Despite the lack of information on costs of installing Saavy FleetTrac device on individual trucks,
Saavy FleetTrac telematics device would be highly beneficial to every truck driver due to its potential of increasing fuel economy and driver's efficiency.
    >>> Your thesis? So then the controlling idea is "due to its potential of increasing fuel economy and driver's efficiency."

That mean your essay will focus on those to points. Does it? (no...)

    6) According to Donna Longing 2010... >>> (incorrect citation convention)

    7) Being a web-based software, users .... >>> (dangling modifier) Are users a "web based software"?

    8) Do the topic sentences of your supporting body paragraphs connect to your thesis, and directly to the controlling idea? No

    9) An application of this >>> Of what?

    10) Your reference list DOES NOT adhere to APA style.

Let's work on this, especially in terms of refining the organization of your ideas.
